The “selfish” reasons I wanted to start an outdoor homeschool program… 😳

❕I WANT a place where my own kids (once they become school-aged) can go so I can have some ‘me-time’ while also knowing they are learning and playing in nature

❕I WANT more community. Being a mom, in school, and working has been isolating. I want to make it so my program’s families come together, go camping, get coffee, and share the joy of raising strong tiny humans

❕I WANT to feel like I made a difference. I loved being a teacher but often felt unrecognized in my efforts. Here I built something all on my own where I can bring something special to my community.

I’m not very good at putting myself first. This venture has aspects of that but so much of it has been selfless. My time, my dedication, and my efforts to make sure we get this program to families have all been behind the scenes (except to my family).

I hope you can be selfish with me and maybe we can get coffee ☕️ while our kids are at Woodland Creatures ☺️

The road to opening an outdoor school has not been an easy one. We’ve faced a few challenges and roadblocks along the way and have needed to evolve and change to adapt. We appreciate your patience as we work through these challenges with openness and transparency.

So whats happening?

1. We’re going to rollout our program for homeschooling families only for the 2026-2027 SY.

We have a few families who were looking for full time schooling but we just don’t have the capacity for this YET - it is still a future goal.

2. We’ve updated our schedule to adjust for this change.

We’ll run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30am - 3:30pm for the 2026-2027 SY.
Our class capacity will be 15 homeschool students with a lead and assistant teacher.

3. We are working on securing a home… still

Our permit fell through for our last possible location BUT we have some prospective spots and are still within the 80125/Littleton area!

4. Lastly… we rebranded our Homeschool Enrichment!

To keep separation between our future full-time school and the enrichment program we’ve decided to create distinct names for each.

Our homeschool program is now Woodland Creatures Homeschool Enrichment Program!
